Lu Wright's breathy, jazzy tones rest beautifully between soul and R&B. The artist grew
up in a home filled with music, listening to everything from the classic soul/jazz
maestros of the 50's and 60's, like Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, to noughties RNB
and Hip Hop outfits such as Outkast, Eminem, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse.
This is where her love for songwriting and melody truly began.
Last summer, Lu released her debut EP 'Notes to self'. 'Notes To Self' is a body of work that radiates warmth and a magnetic energy, woven together in a narrative that tells of the vulnerability and the solitary venture of self-discovery as a blossoming young woman.

"A song that fuses inner
strength with an awareness of our limitations,
'British Daisy', pushes melody to fore."
- CLASH Magazine

" The song stuns with sturdy, soulful vocals gracefully floating atop classic soundscapes of soothing horns and gentle drums."
- Earmilk Magazine

" With Wright citing the soul and noughties R&B and hip-hop genres as her inspiration, mixed in with the title’s promise of introspective lyrics and the presence of her ethereal Jorja Smith-esque vocals, the project will be a shimmering summer-infused display. And, with its release set for May, we will be anxiously awaiting its arrival."
